Mark Dekanich and Linus Klasen: Admiral All-Stars
The American Hockey League named two Milwaukee Admirals to the All-Star team. Goaltender Mark Dekanich and forward Linus Klasen were selected to play the game in Hershey, PA in late January.
Klasen, playing his first season in the United States, is leading the team in points and ranks 14th in the AHL in goals scored. He is actually doing better in power plays, ranking 11th in the league. The Admirals, which are the minor league team for the Nashville Predators, seem to like their chances with Klasen playing. In fact, the forward has been recalled twice by the Predators so far.
Goaltender Mark Dekanich ranks 3rd in the AHL in save percentage and goals against average, trailing the top two spots by a slim margin. Late last year, he broke the franchise record of consecutive shutout minutes with almost 210 straight minutes. In the previous season he had a record of 27-16-4 while being 5th in the league in goals against average (GAA). The goaltender has already been recalled by the Nashville Predators twice this season and made his NHL debut playing against the L.A. Kings.
Both players state they are happy with the selection and intend on giving the fans a great show.
