Back to College: A Look at Badger Hockey
It’s that time of year again, and all anyone wants to talk about is how their favorite NHL team is going to go all the way this year. We’ve heard that one before. Since you can’t talk about professional hockey around the clock, let’s take a look at the Badger’s for a minute.
First, here’s the history. The Badger’s have won six national titles. No, they didn’t make it this season, but they did make it to the championship last season. I know they lost to Boston College 5-0, but, hey, they beat BC IN 2006, so they can still talk trash. Hey, at least they didn’t lose a championship to Harvard. Anyway, this team has a good coach in Mike Eaves and will absolutely make the Frozen Four next season. Let’s face it, if attendance is any indication, then the Badgers are the most popular college hockey team in the country. There has to be a reason for all that. Now, before we get back to the professional game, you know, the only one that matters, let’s keep in mind that college sports have a flavor all their own. They’re less predictable, and arguably more interesting than professional sports.
